RUN FLAT TYRE INSERTS
We install RUN FLAT TYRE INSERTS to assure continued operation of the vehicle without loss of driveability or control when the tyres experience rapid deflation, either as a result of road hazards or ballistic impact. The run flat insert is manufactured from a lightweight composite, and once installed becomes a fixed component of the tyre/wheel assembly that can then be properly balanced with the unit in place. Upon loss of inflation, the driver will be able to maintain control of the vehicle until the tyre can be inspected and changed at a safe location. The run flat insert will protect cast and steel wheels and minimizes tyre damage. If the original tyre is damaged or is worn through usage, the run flat insert is easily removed and reinstalled in a new tyre of the same size. Important note: These inserts are not designed for prolonged high speed usage but meet NATO standards for 50 Kilometre (30 mile) operation. It is cautioned that these standards are developed around a vehicle speed of 30 mph, and longer distances could be achieved at lesser vehicle speed. Conversely, a higher speed will shorten the distance through which these inserts are effective. |
